This is a true rarity for video performance. This is a Concert performance with Abbado conducting and the glorious voice of Jonas Kaufmann, the tenor soloist. There is an all male chorus too. While there are no subtitles (except to introduce a part of section of the work, you can get both the German and English texts of this work by searching on your computer. Picture quality is outstanding (probable HD) and the sound is excellent. Buy this DVD if you like Brahms and Kaufmann as well.

Claudio Abbado leads the Berliner Philharmoniker and Jonas Kaufmann in top voice in this concert of a rarely heard early work by Brahms. Added bonus: some of the finest men's chorus singing around.
