Movie is lots of fun
Sylvia Burrage (Fallbrook, CA) 1/24/2015 7:49 PM
In the recital he's probably 30 + years older than the movie and it shows here and there, still admirable tho. The movie is very engaging and well worth watching. Maybe someday we'll get subs, but the gist of it is clear and much of the humour visual. Interesting to see what Russians find attractive and fun.

Don't miss the Lemeshev movie after the concert!
Daryl Ostby (Minneapolis, MN) 10/8/2013 4:51 PM
After seeing the poor ratings and the one review which refers only to the concert on this DVD, I believe that many purchasers don't know what a gem they have. The catalog isn't clear, and if you don't go to the menu, but just hit "play" and then "stop" at the end of the concert, you will never know that after the concert comes the wonderful movie "Muzykalnaya Istoriya." This film stars the youthful Lemeshev as a taxi driver who aspires to study at the Conservatory and sing at the Kirov. The plot is easy to follow despite no subtitles. Please note that the picture and sound on this DVD are far superior to those on DVD 7071 which has just the movie.

Sergei Yakovlevich still charming
Maxime17 (France) 12/31/2009 7:14 AM
This concert in Moscow Conservatoire, Great Hall, at end of Year 1965 (11th december) show Sergei always captivating and master of its emission and timbre. The youth return especially in the bouquet of Tchaikovsky's romances. Picture and the sound are good for this Russian television's document of the 60s.
