DVD 7054 LUTHER (Tikka)

Watching this I was fascinated by the walls, wondering if they were real or part of a set. When I went to the documentary section it told the history of this unique building carved out of stone. So there, its opera in a church, designed to be performed in that church. Seems it was a labour of love with the composer, librettist and lead baritone who is excellent and, also a pastor. I didn't car much for the music so I kept it low and enjoyed the story in the subtitles, and learned a bit of history.
