DVD 5976 Verdi: Attila, 1985 Verona
ditto to other reviews. For me this is the best available DVD of this opera. Costumes and scenery seem appropriate. All singers - great! Would recommend this to anyone who does not already have a DVD of this opera and is trying to decide among many choices.

very good picture and sound..considering its from the mid 80s. Special kudos to Maestro Santi,who as always,does a wonderful job with Verdi.Nesterenko not quite idiomatic,but always a pleasure to hear. The 3 Italians specialized in early Verdi, and are all very good.Chiara, a lovely spinto, probably shortened her career by doing parts that were too heavy for her voice, but we can be thankful for her Odabella/

Absolutely a top performance. Singers vocally matched to sing and act against each others roll. Scenery adds to the visual effect.
If you're a Verdi and/or Shakespeare fan this DVD is a must for you.
