DVD 10500 GIOVANNA D'ARCO (Verdi)

A first rate DVD. A commercial and traditional production with excellent picture and sound. I had never heard or seen Joan of Arc previously so cannot comment accurately. The male singing was great but I thought Joan / Vassileva was a little loud at times, though this could have been deliberate, as she had a range of emotions in her voice. She certainly looked the part. An opera which I think will grow on me with more watchings.
