DVD 10384 HALKA (Moniuszko)

Yes the picture is grainy BUT to finally have available to us "Halka" and "Haunted Manor" (on another DVD) from the father of Polish opera is wonderful. No, the singers are not really known in the Western world but so what - they do a good job. The important part is that the unknown operas from Poland (and Norway, Denmark,Sweden, etc.) are becoming available. Thank you Premiere Opera. The two available (Halka and Haunted Manor) are very different in style and music; both are enjoyable, Halka more so.
