DVD 10155 LES CONTES D'HOFFMANN (Offenbach)

The sound and the picture, though darkish throughout, are both excellent, except for one minor flaw almost at the end. There are German subtitles but they did not help me. Knowing the story, it was quite easy to follow the general storyline. I would have liked English subtitles however as I have little idea of the details. The nudity felt just a part of the story and did not offend or look contrived. If you are looking for a different version of this Opera, this one is a dependable choice.
