With AE004, the Audio Encyclopedia represented the State Opera in its presentations of the operas Richard Strauss, native son of M?nchen. The present volume omits Strauss and two other major groups of works: the operas of Wagner and those of the 20th century. We have tried to represent here the breadth of the house's standard works with those exceptions.
