With nearly 30,000 CDs and DVDs, Opera Vault is the home the world’s largest archival catalog of live opera recordings. These are rare, immortal, unique, and iconic performances featuring the greatest of opera singers. Explore our catalog to find never before available audio and video recordings of your favorite singers, composers, conductors, productions, shows, and more. Many of our Golden Age recordings you won't find anywhere else. Our discs are multi region; so they work anywhere in the world, we ship internationally, can provide any title in digital format, and welcome customers from across the globe.
This incredible catalog was founded in the 1960’s, and quickly became one of the most important record producing organizations of live opera recordings, whose work went on to sell in the biggest classical music record stores throughout the world. Through archiving and maintaining this immense number of live recordings, the Opera Vault catalog is the only database in the world to hold such a legacy of recorded history; therefore its continuation, and our mission, is essential from an educational and historical standpoint, so that the next generation of students, opera singers, fans, and classical arts connoisseurs from all over the world, can learn from, be inspired by, and experience the greatest live operatic and classical arts performances.

All files, be it videos, graphics, photos, text or audio files, are displayed on Opera Vault according to what is considered FAIR USE.
The United States Copyright law of 1976 [17 USC § 107]: Notwithstanding the provisions of sections 106 and 106A [17 USC sects 106, 106A], the fair use of a copyrighted work, including such use by reproduction in copies or phono records or by any other means specified by that section, for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching (including multiple copies for classroom use), scholarship, or research, is not an infringement of copyright. In determining whether the use made of a work in any particular case is a fair use the factors to be considered shall include:
(1) the purpose and character of the use, including whether such use is of a commercial nature or is for non-profit educational purposes; (2) the nature of the copyrighted work; (3) the amount and substantiality of the portion used in relation to the copyrighted work as a whole; and (4) the effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of the copyrighted work.
In compliance with the above regulations, Opera Vault's catalog is strictly for non-profit educational purposes and intended to inform, illustrate and convey sound and visual perception with respect to the text information provided.
Furthermore, Opera Vault only provides DVD and CD discs of our titles for those who still prefer hardcopies of their recordings and where these recordings do not exist as hard copy discs, therefore having no effect of the use upon the potential market for or value of a work that may be copyrighted. If a customer requests a custom digital file, we direct them to the online source of the performance (if available), and if reqeusted we only service and assist the customer in downloading the file, strictly for their own archival purposes.
