0247-2 SLY (Wolf-Ferrari)

What joy Carreras and Domingo took this forgotten piece from Wolf-Ferrari up, and the opera houses alike. The first-mentioned went on to Washington, Barcelona, Torino and Nice with the part, before concluding a fantastic operatic career on stage with it in Tokyo in 2003. Sly works really well in the theatre and can certainly take up competition with some of the other outputs from the veristic era. Carreras gives us his all in a performance, where also Pons should be mentioned. May 17th 1998.
