Rolando Villazón turns 50 - and celebrates his birthday with a festive and cheerful gala concert. Prominent guests celebrate and serve top-class birthday songs. The birthday child dedicates the first part of the concert to his musical heartfelt friend WA Mozart, followed in the second part by "hits" from operas, operettas and popular songs from Europe and Mexico.
Rolando Villazón has formed long-standing friendships with his guests, both personal and musical. Together they serve arias from "Le nozze di Figaro", "La clemenza di Tito" and "Così fan tutte" - and then switch to the lighter subject: popular operetta melodies and also rousing hits from Zarzuelas - "real catchy tunes to sing along", says the native Mexicans.
